Slow Cooker Lentil and Rice Soup


8 c. water
2 c. dry lentils
2 c. uncooked brown rice
1 1/2 c. chopped carrots
1 c. chopped celery
1 small onion, diced
1 c. vegetable or chicken broth
1 t. garlic powder
1/2 t. pepper
1 T. salt
1 c. mushrooms, sliced



Place all ingredients except mushrooms in slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.
Add mushrooms for the last hour.
